Last weekend Haltija's daughter
Bijou-Bijou de Salviamar competed at the
International Dog Shows in Lisbon. On Saturday (Lisboa
Winner Show) Bijou took the CAC and the CACIB
under the Spanish judge Fernando Quilis. On
Sunday (Qualifying Show for the Portuguese
Championship) Igor Selimovic awarded to her the
CAC-QC and the CACIB, and choose her as the BOB.

Finally, the Mexican Kennel Club
has published the official results for the year
2009. Bright Northern Star de Salviamar, our
Northy, despite having been exhibited only in
the first half of the year ranks absolute best
Samoyed and 3rd best junior of group 5 of the
year 2009 in Mexico. |

already opened their eyes for the first time. We

News from Finland: Last Sunday
Jeppe (CH Funny Fabric Whopee Wedidit), father
of Haltija and grandfather of Lily and of our present
litter, was BIS Veteran at the All Breed Dog Show held
in Hammerfest (Norway) under judge Soile Blister
(breed, group and BIS). |

Haltija has given us again a lot
of girls, five, and only one male. The last
puppy was whelped at 09:05 PM, nearly 12 hours
after the first one. In the first 12-24 hours
only the boy has increased in weight, although
all puppies look healthy and are sucking in a
normal way.

After a restless night, Haltija
has broken waters at 04:59 AM. At 09:25 she has
whelped her first puppy, a little girl (compared
to the rest of her sisters until now) of 421 g
who was in breech position. By now (02:16 PM) we
have 3 girls and one boy. The third girl was too
a breech birth. We will give more details later
this afternoon or evening. |

in our daily walk added to
Photos. Unfortunately the high temperatures
of the last days have wilted many of the typical
Mediterranean early spring flowers. Only two
weeks ago we could admire a multicoloured
palette, today it was only green and yellow.

Haltija with the BIS 3rd-trophy
in Breeders' Group won last Sunday at the
International Show of Asturias by her two years
old daughters Bijou, Silver and Queen, which
Susana and Ana, their owners, have sent to us
accompanied by a warm-hearted card which has
deeply touched us.
Haltija is
already very ponderous and weary. We suppose
that she will whelp tomorrow. |

The next good news is that today
our vets have confirmed by x-ray that Haltija is
expecting six puppies, and not only three
as they had counted in the ecography. |

Silver CAC
Last weekend, Silver and Queen—the same as
both their handlers (Susana, their owner, and
Manuel)—made
their debut in the show rings. On Saturday, at
the National Show of Asturias in Oviedo, with
both competing in Open class, Queen was
Excellent 3rd, while Silver was Excellent 1st +
CAC + BOS. |

On Sunday, at the International
Show of Asturias, their litter-sister Bijou was
present too. That was the first time Ana, her
owner, could herself exhibit Bijou again in a show after
breaking her foot when ice skating in December.
Ana was still visibly limping, which prevented
Bijou from showing off her excellent movement.
Despite of it, Bijou
was CAC + CACIB + BOB. Silver took both reserves
(RCAC and RCACIB) and Queen was rated Excellent
and placed 3rd after her sisters.

In the afternoon all three sisters competed in
the honour ring in the Breeders' Group
Competition and they achieved the BIS
3rd-place-trophy for Salviamar.

The litter of 3
puppies is expected for April 25. Haltija is
putting on weight rapidly (3 kg since her
insemination) and
the expected puppies are already 9 cm long.

are delighted to announce the close birth of
their litter which is expected by the end of
April.

Haltija's
pregnancy has
been confirmed today by ultrasonography. Only a
few pups are expected.

trying to turn Silver & Queen into two proper
young ladies. Judging by their smiling faces,
they seem to be as happy bathed and clean as
muddy.

his 13th so far. Thysonn, now 7 years old,
was BOS at the Special Show of the Danish
